Story:

We always prefer to ride without a backpack, whenever possible in Squamish. But no one wants to be 'that guy' who needs to borrow tools when out on a ride, or has to hike down the trail with a broken bike. We wanted a solution that would allow us to carry the essential tools that we need for every ride, without wearing a bulky backpack, which is why we created the EDC tool system.

For rides under 3 hours, OneUp recommends storing your EDC Tool in your steerer tube, with the Tubeless Plug Kit installed and already loaded with Bacon in case you get a flat.

By attaching your complete tool system to your bike you can be sure to never forget your repair kit.

We carry the 70cc pump mounted to our water bottle cage with a spare tube strapped to our frame using a OneUp Gear Strap, just in case you can't fix a puncture with your tubeless plugs. This leaves your pockets free for keys, phone and snacks.

For rides over 3 hours, we add a fanny pack or small backpack so that we can pack more food and water, a jacket, a merino base-layer and a basic first aid kit.

A small backpack weighs around 1.5lbs (680g) completely empty. That's the weight difference between a carbon and an aluminium frame.

    Great Design

Super well designed, super compact, but just be aware that the one up naming convention is confusing. I initially bought the EDC multi tool (which is just a tool) vs the EDC multi tool V2 (multi tool and storage) which I needed. The V2 is not just a multi tool but also storage that fits in One Ups Headset and Pump storage. The other minor complaint is that the tool would not fit into the pump when it arrived. It took me a while to figure out but the screws that hold the axles of the multi tool in place needed to be tightened just a smidge to fit and it's not readily apparent. Once tightened it's a perfect fit, but its a bit disappointing that it comes like this out of the box.

    Should do the job

Haven’t had to use it yet but paired with the pump it’s a nice convenient way to carry tools and pump.
