The X01 Eagle cassette shares all the same tech and construction as the top end XX1 cassettes but without the added cost of the fancy coloured finishes, providing riders with the same exceptional performance at a more affordable price-point.
The cassettes are built around SRAM's X-Dome architecture to create an incredibly lightweight and strong design with excellent mud-clearing properties. X-Glide 2 technology provides quick and precise shifting up and down the cassette, even while under load, and the 10-52t options provide riders with up to a whopping 520% gear range.
Who's this item for: The X01 cassette is for riders that demand the best in terms of shifting quality, durability, and low component weight but don't want to shell out extra for the fancy bling of XX1
Number of gears: These are 12-speed Eagle cassettes.
Weight:
Cog-tooth span: Only the largest cog differs between the 10-50t and 10-52t cassettes.
Other component compatibility: SRAM has redesigned the new derailleurs to work with the larger range of the 10-52t cassette and it is their official stance that only the new derailleurs with 520% printed on the rear of the cage are compatible with the 10-52t. If you have an older Eagle derailleur without 520% printed on the cage you should stick with the 10-50t cassettes.
Best paired up with an Eagle chain.
Pros: They look great, perform great, and don't weigh much.
Cons: While they are much more wallet-friendly than their XX1 sibling these things still ain't cheap.

- Peter M.I recommend this productRated 5 stars11 months agoA great upgrade
Upgraded from the 50t as it was worn out. Really pleased with the 52t. Surprised me what a difference an extra 2 teeth makes. It gives me a better controlled climb on steeper sections I would otherwise struggle with. Allows me better control on technical climbs, and pushes me into the 42t ring earlier as I get momentum. Cant believe how easy it was to (self) install and tune. Amazing engineering for the derailleur to be able to make such a seamless change between the 42t and 52t rings.
