The M8000 11-speed cassette strikes a perfect balance between weight and reliability. Featuring a combination of aluminium and steel cogs the cassette is both, light and durable. To keep performance at a max, Shimano uses their Rhythm Step Gear Progression which gives you the best possible gear combo and ratio. Available in three sizes to suit a variety of different chainring options, you can build up the ultimate wide range 11-speed drivetrain.

    A smooth operator

    This cassette is as good as a mixed cassette I put together 30 years ago for my baby poo Datsun 120y! Sound to my ears! Smooth and easy...

    High quality and great range with one minor niggle

    High quality you'd expect from Shimano XT with great shifting and a nice wide 11-46 range. The only reason for four stars is lazy Shimano just used the same gearing as the 11-42 cassette and whacked on a 46 to replace the 42. This gives a pretty big jump from 37->46 which shifts fine, but you feel it. This isn't a deal breaker though, just a niggle. Great cassette and I love having the 46 there for when it's needed.

    Ditch the dinosaur!

    My previous cassette was looking like the back of a Stegosaurus .... the new XT cassette is now smooth as silk and doesn't miss a beat!
