Dollars for Dirt - November 2019

Dollars For Dirt

Each month, we select three groups who are doing excellent things in MTB in Australia. We've recently DOUBLED the amount of funds we put forward - so now each month, we put $1,200 on the table, and we ask our customers to vote to decide who gets the funds.

Each group gets at least $300, but the group with the highest votes at the end of the month scores $600!

Nerang Trail Care Alliance (QLD)

https://www.facebook.com/nerangtrailcare

The Nerang Trail Care Alliance is a volunteer group of riders tasked with maintaining and improving the trail network in Nerang National Park on the Gold Coast. It's a big job and so we are currently fundraising for a couple of projects that will see professional builders contracted to do some cool new tasks. These tasks will fast track the authorisation of some unsanctioned trails and open Nerang up to a broader spectrum of riders.

Lysterfield District Trail Riders (VIC)

http://www.lysterfieldmtb.com

The Lysterfield District Trail Riders (LDTR) are a mountain bike club, managed by volunteers who also enjoy mountain biking. Our club is always working hard to offer the best mountain biking and visitor experience at Lysterfield Park.

We take pride in the results of what our volunteers help create and could not be where we are today without those who have volunteered their time to improve mountain biking at Lysterfield Park.

Manning Great Lakes Tipriders MTB Club (NSW)

https://www.facebook.com/MGLTippies/

We have the best trails on the NSW coast, attracting local riders but also riders from across the state and interstate. We have a strong sense of community, with lots of interest for group rides. We recently received an honourable mention (Citation) in State Parliament for The PBM 6HR - it's a 6 hour race attracting over 250 riders. Recent participants at events held on our trails included Luke Meir Smith, Troy Bayliss and Jason English.

Our trails are situated in a working forest. Forestry have recently commenced logging, with the logging duration expected to run for approximately 6 months. We expect to have significant costs rebuilding trails impacted by logging activity. The Dollars For Dirt donation will be a huge help to funding that cost.
