The Ultimate 2017 Camelbak Hydration Pack Guide

The Ultimate 2017 Camelbak Hydration Pack Guide

The 2017 range of Camelbak hydration packs sees many new and exciting features, new models and an all new reservoir across all models.

The new reservoir is named CRUX - it's the culmination of customer feedback, athlete advice and a whole lot of product testing! The big improvements that have been made to the reservoir are:

  • A larger gauge hose that allows 20% more water for every sip.
  • A more ergonomic handle
  • A larger fill port - it's up to 88mm
  • A new cap with extra finger grip that folds out of the way while filling
  • A better integrated On/Off valve
  • A baffle through the reservoir helps the bladder to retain a lower profile shape

The brilliant features that carry through from previous models are:

  • Big Bite Valve. The original hydration pack that is still the easiest to use, and never leaks
  • Hydroguard - Antimicrobial technology that inhibits the growth of bacteria inside the bladder and tube
  • Quicklink - The easy way to disconnect your tube from the reservoir. It incorporates an auto shut off valve to prevent leakage. Quicklink is only available on 3L packs.
  • Magnetic Tube Trap - The easiest way to stow your drinking tube.

It can often be a challenge to work out what pack is going to be right for you, so we've broken the range down into 5 categories.

  • Low Rider Series - Packs that use a lumbar reservoir to shift the weight from the shoulders, down to the hips. This keeps the pack nice and stable while allowing more freedom of movement for the upper body.
  • Bike Series - Perfect for most riders, these packs utilise a standard upright reservoir with a light weight. The bike range covers all possible storage and hydration requirements.
  • Impact Protection Series - Named KUDU, these packs are ideal for gravity focussed riders that want the safety of an inbuilt back protector while still carrying 3L of water and plenty of storage space
  • Women's specific - A diverse range of packs that cover all riders. Every aspect of these packs in optimised for the female anatomy.
  • Kids packs - Designed especially so you can take your little ones out on adventures too!

LOW RIDER SERIES

The fastest growing series in the Camelbak range. The Low Rider series is perfect for those who ride demanding trails and want the freedom of movement to ride as quick as they can! The design centres around getting the water reservoir nice and low and using the hip strap to take a good chunk of the weight. This not only removes weight from your shoulders but lowers your centre of gravity in general and creates a nice and stable pack.
